Research in Biomedical Engineering
Research in biomedical engineering is expected to support accelerating the nation’s independence in the field of medical devices as stated in Presidential Instruction No. 6 of 2016: Acceleration of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry Development; Minister of Health Regulation No. 17/2017 Action Plan for Acceleration of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry Development.
Some of the research topics conducted include:
- Drug Eluting Stent (DES).
This research is part of the umbrella research which is the development of INA stent UGM. Major research conducted by the Biomedical Engineering Study Program since 2013 has produced a Bare Metal Stent (BMS) product made of Co-Cr alloy metal (2020 received a patent number: IDP000066787).
